Dr. Amanda N. Hale is a residency-trained optometrist and Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Owner of the Eye Care Center since 2011, Dr. Hale is dedicated to providing the highest quality eyecare in an attentive and patient-focused practice.
A native of Virginia, she received a Bachelor of Arts from Randolph-Macon College in Biology and Chemistry, then earned her doctorate of optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts in 2004. During school she had the opportunity to train in the Veterans Affairs clinic in Leeds, MA, the University of Maryland Baltimore Ophthalmology department and the Indian Health Services of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She completed a postdoctoral residency at the Southern VA Healthcare System in Tucson, Arizona focused on ocular disease and low vision rehabilitation. Upon completion, she provided comprehensive eye care in a hospital-based ophthalmology practice in Arlington, Virginia.
Dr. Hale relocated to the Berkshires and purchased the Eye Care Center, which has served the Berkshire community since 1986. In 2021, she completed a postdoctoral certification in Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Management of Glaucoma and Ocular Disease, which combined with her clinical experience allows her to provide full-scope care to her patients.
Dr. Hale is active in her community, serving on several committees in the town of Richmond where she lives with her husband, daughter and black lab. She is a coach for Girls on the Run of Western Massachusetts and PTO treasurer. She enjoys skiing and camping with her family, and running on the roads of Berkshire County.
